Workshops/Ad Hoc Sessions

 

 

Workshops are being offered prior to the 27th Fungal Genetics Conference. Registration is required for some of the workshops. Please note below those that need registration. Registrants can reserve housing for an additional night at Asilomar when they sign up for a pre-meeting workshop. Ad hoc sessions will be held throughout the meeting. Below is a list of the workshops and ad hoc meetings that have currently been scheduled.

10th International Aspergillus Meeting

March 11-12, 2013

Abstract Submission:

There is a check box on the Fungal Conference abstract submission site to indicate that you would like the abstract to be considered for Asperfest10 also. Abstract deadline is December 12, 2012.

 

If you wish to submit an abstract for Asperfest10 that is NOT going to be presented at the Fungal Conference, please email your abstract(s) as a Word file attachment to aspergillus@plantbio.uga.edu.

Include the names and affiliations of all authors. Underline the name of the presenting author. If you are a student and first and presenting author and would like to be considered for the Novozymes student poster prize, please follow your name with an asterisk (*). The main body of your abstract must be less than 2,500 words.

 

Two authors will share a 4’ high x 8’ wide poster board. The useable space for each author will measure 3’10” (111.8 cm) wide x 3’10” (111.8 cm) high. No materials for making posters will be available at the conference grounds. We encourage photos of the authors be attached to posters.

Time is available in the early afternoons for ad hoc sessions. Those wishing to convene a session should contact one of the scientific chairs with the title, date they would like to hold the session and number of people expected. Ad Hoc organizers will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the session, including speaker presentations. The ad hoc session information must be received by January 8, 2013 to be included in the program book.

Important changes to the code governing fungal names means that names for asexual and sexual morphs will require equal consideration. A target list of notable fungal species, how to address their potential name changes and other impacts will be discussed.
